Infants are fascinating to me. They are ever-present to their immediate needs, from the urgency of wanting to be fed to needing comfort, or drifting off into a deep sleep. They are unconcerned with the past or future, focused entirely on what is required right now. Despite relying on others to fulfill those needs, the result is often a content and happy beings.
The Struggle with the Present
I frequently wonder why we expend so much physical, mental, and emotional energy avoiding the present moment. The only certainty we have is this very “now.” It is a precious, fleeting moment, often eluding us as we get caught up in the drama of our lives, consciously or subconsciously.
A Unique Experience for Everyone
Everyone’s experience of life is different, not just from moment to moment but as we move through different stages and states of being. The impact of action, inaction, or even indifference varies for each person.
The Power of the Breath
In my own experience, I’ve realised that the breath separates those who are present from those who are absent. In our busyness, we become separated from, if not completely oblivious to, this fundamental life-affirming action—the inhalation, a brief pause, followed by the exhalation.
Falling in Love with Your Breath
I encourage you to fall in love with your breath and connect deeply to it. As you move through each cycle, notice the subtleties—the quality, duration, and space of the breath. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and pay attention. You will notice when your breath is laboured, when you’re holding too tight, or when it becomes a soft whisper.
Unravelling the Connection Between Breath and Thought
Begin to unravel how your thoughts affect your energy and your breath, and vice versa. Become the silent observer, witnessing the changes within and around you. By doing this, you will feel empowered, learn to respond to challenges, and restore balance to your life.
Manifest Your Dreams
Pay attention to what your breath reveals. Let go of fear and all that holds you back from fulfilling your life’s purpose. Manifest your dreams by embracing your breath. What are you waiting for?
